The BC Wildfire Service is working with the Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi ‘it First Nation to conduct four spot-sized prescribed burns.
The burns are located approximately nine kilometres southwest of Grasmere near the Canada/US border and will cover 0.2 hectares.
Crews will be gathering site-specific information on the effect of low-intensity spring burning on invasive plants sprayed with herbicide.
The burn is expected to begin today if weather permits.
