A water quality advisory has been issued for the City of Cranbrook due to elevated turbidity levels coming out of the Phillips Reservoir.

Turbidity is a measure of water clarity or how much matter is suspended in the water.

City staff say the increase is likely due to the transition to spring weather.

While it is not a boil water notice, it is recommended that children, the elderly, those with weakened immune systems or anyone who wants additional protection should boil their water until further notice.

Water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute.
