Black Hawk helicopter patrolling B.C.-U.S. border for illegal activities

An RCMP helicopter will be patrolling for illegal activities along the BC-U.S. border.

BC RCMP announced on Friday that an RCMP Black Hawk helicopter will be patrolling the border, focusing on those involved in human smuggling, trafficking drugs/other contraband, and those crossing illegally to and out of Canada.

Officer in Charge of Border Integrity for Federal Policing Pacific Region Superintendent Bert Ferreira says police are excited to add the helicopter to their border surveillance equipment.

Officers say police personnel will be on board the helicopter, which can provide intelligence and response to any suspicious activities to the region’s Integrated Border Enforcement Teams.

The helicopter will be patrolling BC’s borders with Washington, Idaho, and Montana, and if you see or hear it, do not be alarmed.
