The City of Cranbrook is partnering with the RDEK again for a joint application to the UBCM community emergency preparedness fund.

City council recently approved a joint application to apply for funds to support the East Kootenay Emergency Operations Center Modernization Project for $40,000.

The City is applying for a similar grant from the UBCM this time for the East Kootenay Emergency Operations Center Modernization Project.

Funds would be used to purchase a drone for emergency responses, radiocommunication upgrades, and training for emergency management staff among other things.

Like the previous grant, the city could get $40,000 if successful.
