Cranbrook search warrant turns up drugs and stolen property

Cranbrook RCMP found suspected drugs and stolen property when General Investigation Section officers executed a search warrant on Wednesday, January 15.

During the search of a residence in the 2000 Block of 4th Street South, investigators found and seized what officers suspected to be controlled drugs and substances and recovered suspected stolen property.

Several people inside the residence were arrested and later released.

The incident is still under investigation.

“As the property is identified, police will make attempts to locate the owners,” said RCMP officials.

“The Cranbrook RCMP recognize that property theft is unfortunately currently all too common in our community, and while we continue to make proactive efforts it is very important that people/businesses take the time to secure their property, engrave, or mark their property in a way that they know it is theirs, as well as documenting any model and serial numbers.”

You can also help police by creating an itemized list of any stolen property so it can be noted by officers.

“By doing this, it makes it easier to determine if items are stolen if they are located, and to return them to the rightful owners,” said Cranbrook RCMP.
