The Columbia Valley Rockies and Fernie Ghostriders continue to stay neck and neck in the Eddie Mountain Division.

The two teams went into the Tuesday night game tied, but it was Fernie who came away with a 4-2 win.

The Rockies were coming off a successful weekend winning a 5-3 game against the Creston Valley Thunder Cats and a 4-3 game against the Golden Rockets.

Head Coach Tayler Sincennes was impressed with Peter Dodley’s play, especially in the Creston Game.

“Godley had three goals in the third against Creston on Friday,” he said.

“They were prototypical goals for him as they were net front and going to the dirty areas. He’s finding ways to score which we love.”

He is one goal shy of the team lead in goals with 14 on the season so far.

The Rockies will meet the Ghostriders again on Friday.

Sincennes says they need to win these games against Fernie otherwise the standings will get farther and farther apart.

“We’ve dug ourselves a little bit of a hole in the standings with just our play in the month of November,” he added.

“Games like this against Fernie are going to be important for both teams. They could get a pretty big spread on us if they win those games and still have those games in hand but we can close the gap if we win.”

The Rockies are only two points back from the Ghostriders for second in the Eddie Mountain Division but Fernie still has four games in hand.
