Goaltending was crucial for the Kimberley Dynamiters as they continued their win streak to stay atop the Eddie Mountain Division.
They beat the Columbia Valley Rockies twice in 6-3 and 4-3 wins.
They followed that up with a 3-0 shutout against the Creston Valley Thunder Cats.
Head coach Derek Stuart says goaltender Marc Samyn stood out in the first two games.
“Samyn was outstanding Tuesday night in Invermere and again on Friday against Invermere. Without his performance, it might have been perhaps a split up there, but he was excellent in net for us.”
Goalie Josh Hager had quite the night on Saturday getting the shutout while also scoring an empty net goal.
Stuart says the whole team is really starting to play well.
“I really liked our defensive play last week. I think we gave up three even-strength goals in the three games we played,” he said.
“Discipline was much better as well so I think if we’re on even strength we’ll be in control for most of the game.”
The Dynamiters are 13-2-1 on the season for first in the Eddie Mountain Division and second in the league standings.
