The District of Sparwood has begun upgrading the Skating loops with lighting being installed along the Lions Park Pathway.
The work is expected to last approximately 12 weeks and will take place between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily on weekdays.
Earlier this month council awarded a contract worth nearly $257,000 and the project has a total budget of $316,823.84.
Once work is complete it will allow the skating loop to be used during the early morning and in the evenings.

Residents are asked to use caution in the area while work is underway and obey all posted signage.
