Kimberley Dynamiters head coach Derek Stuart is expecting a strong showing from the Nitros this season.
He says there’s at least a couple of forwards to keep a close eye on this season and the blueline should really shine.
“We’re fortunate to have Tristan Weill back as well as Riley Langille who had a good start with us last year,” he said.
“I’m pretty excited about our top four defence who are all back, Jackson Murphy, Trey Stephenson, Callan Valstar and Nick Hughes, who are all 19 and 20-year-old veterans. We’re pretty experienced all throughout the lineup.”
While Stuart won’t make any end of season predictions, he believes the team is stronger than last year’s.
“It’s far too early to tell. All I can say is we’re a much better team than we were at this time last year,” he said.
“We’re a very mature older team this season and I don’t foresee any drastic changes in the near future.”
The Dynamiters open the 2024/25 regular season against the Creston Valley Thunder Cats on Friday on the road followed by their home opener against the Columbia Valley Rockies on Saturday.
