The RDEK will now wait to see if the severe storm that hit the Columbia Valley is eligible for disaster financial assistance.
The submission period for damage reports ended on Sept. 3 at 8 a.m.
Regional information officer Loree Duczek said damage reports are the first step in getting the wind storm classified as eligible.
“What that assistance might look like really depends on what’s approved and really the first step in the process and the piece that’s most critical is that we gather as much detailed information and specifics as possible on the scope and the magnitude of the damage,” Duczek said.
Over 160 residents filled out reports.
Residents who suffered damage should hold on to any detailed records, photos, and receipts for clean-up.
The RDEK will provide updates on the status of the disaster financial assistance eligibility as they become available.
