The murder trial for Creston’s Mitchell Earl McIntyre has begun in Kamloops Provincial Court today, July 2, and is expected to run for four weeks.
He is accused of second-degree murder of 56-year-old Julia Howe in Creston, back in February 2022.
McIntyre will be tried by a judge alone.
The trial was originally supposed to take place in Cranbrook Provincial Court, however, McIntyre submitted an application back in April 2024 to have it moved to Kamloops where he is in custody and receives medical treatment.
The judge granted his application due to his health concerns.
