The City of Kimberley has closed the Peak to Platzl staircase due to safety concerns.
City staff said the ground around the staircase has been shifting.
Barriers have been placed at the top and bottom blocking access.
The city has yet to make a decision regarding the stairs and they will remain closed until one is made.
