A 32-year-old Elkford man was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition after crashing into the Elk River.

The man reported the incident to police, stating he had driven his brand-new 2024 Ford F150 off the highway north of Elkford and into the river.

He wasn’t injured, but police noticed an odour of liquor coming from his breath.

Two separate breathalyzer tests resulted in two failures.
