Crews with the City of Fernie have begun the yearly hydrant maintenance and main line flushing.
Work will be done over April and May in the Northlands and Maintown neighbourhoods.
City officials said the maintenance will help improve water quality and flow throughout the water system.
Residents may notice temporary water discolouration and pressure changes.

Discoloration can be fixed by running the cold water tap until it clears.
