Columbia Valley SAR called out twice for injured recreationists

Columbia Valley Search and Rescue responded to two separate injuries in the outdoors.

SAR officials said the first report was from an injured hunter east of Canal Flats.

Both Columbia Valley and Kimberley search and rescue groups responded.

The second incident was for an injured hiker on the Diana Lake trail in the Rockies.

The hiker was transported by wheeled stretcher and then by helicopter to an awaiting ambulance.

SAR officials are reminding residents to be prepared for limited daylight and winter conditions when heading out during this time of year.
