The District of Elkford is seeking feedback on a proposed bylaw that would consolidate and modernize four existing bylaws.
Elkford officials said the new bylaw would set clear rules for local neighbourhoods relating to standards of property care and conduct.
“Over the past two years, we have been working hard to improve our bylaw education and enforcement. When this is done effectively, it will help to ensure that everyone has a clear understanding of the rules and expectations for being a good neighbour,” said district staff.
The bylaws that would be replaced are those for unsightly premises, noise control, outdoor water conservation and loitering and public nuisance.
District officials noted a few points concluded in the bylaw, including the following:
- Specific definitions of unsightly premises and storage of materials.
- Maintenance of fences and buildings on a property
- Plant and vegetation maintenance on a property.
Feedback can be submitted online until August 1st.
