Cranbrook RCMP has identified the suspect they were seeking out Friday afternoon after he allegedly fled from a stolen vehicle.
RCMP were highly active around the Pritchard Road area east of Cranbrook to try and locate the male suspect.
Police originally has asked the public to take an abundance of caution and avoid picking up any hitchhikers, while also reporting any suspicious people that may have been in the area.
In their most recent update on the situation, RCMP said they have identified the man after he reportedly left behind his court documents in the stolen truck.
At this time, RCMP have not released the name of the suspect or if any charges have been approved against the individual.
When packing incidentals for a brisk run from a stolen truck, please ensure you take your court papers with you to provide a little challenge to the officers looking to identify you. It was gonna happen anyway but, we really do appreciate the assistance! https://t.co/50RxliFPb4
