Kootenay Street Work Requires Water Shutdown

The City of Cranbrook is shutting down water service from 4th Street North to 3rd Street North for an emergency repair.

According to the City of Cranbrook, crews working on the Kootenay Street Sewer Trunk Main Project uncovered an unrestrained water main.

“For safety, the City has shutdown water services in that area.”

“It is expected that the water service will be restored by the end of the day today (Friday, July 26).”

The City of Cranbrook said that once water service is restored, residents may see dirty water from their faucets, but by running the cold tap, the water will once again run clear.

“The City of Cranbrook appreciates the understanding of those residents and businesses impacted by this shutdown and will restore water services as quickly as possible.”
