The Cranbrook RCMP has introduced an online crime reporting tool to streamline the process of reporting non-emergency crimes in the community.
RCMP said that less serious crimes where a witness or suspect is unavailable may be reported online by local business owners or residents with a valid email address.
Some of the examples of crimes that police said may be reported include damage or mischief to property or a vehicle under $5,000, theft under $5,000, and lost property.
Police said that the tool became available to the community on January 23rd of this year.
Cranbrook RCMP said that the tool will give residents a more convenient way to make reports, and will free up staff to focus on higher priority calls.
