Kimberley RCMP says they have seen an increase in activity from known individuals in the community and are asking residents to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity.
“Some individuals that we are aware of as being involved in crime – whether it’s drugs or property crime – we’re seeing some of these people more frequently in recent months,” said Staff Sgt. Steve Woodcox.
Woodcox says you can play a part in reducing crime in the community.
“I’m asking the public to please call us if they see any suspicious activity,” said Woodcox.
“Sometimes it helps us become aware of where these individuals are frequenting, and we can move resources so we can proactively deal with these situations or individuals as they come into town.”
Woodcox urges residents to take steps to reduce their chances of becoming a victim of property crime.
“Don’t keep any valuables in plain view in your vehicle. Some individuals who want to break into vehicles because they see items in these that they want to steal,” said Woodcox.
“Take all of your valuables inside. Do not leave your wallet in your vehicle, because when wallets are stolen, fraud is often committed.”
