Cranbrook water quality advisory extended

Higher turbidity levels are still being reported out of the Phillips Reservoir, so the water quality advisory continues until further notice.

Turbidity is a measure of water clarity or how much matter is suspended in the water.

While it is not a boil water notice, it is recommended that children, the elderly, those with weakened immune systems or anyone who wants additional protection should boil their water until further notice.

Water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute.

City staff say the increase is likely due to the transition to spring weather.

The water quality advisory was first issued on April 9.
