A Fernie woman who has been missing since Friday, April 11, was found alive and safe the following Wednesday.
Elk Valley RCMP officials say a public tip helped police find her in the South Country area near Newgate and Meadow Creek Forest Service Road.
The reporting witness stayed with the woman until police arrived to ensure her safety.
Officers took the woman to the Fernie Hospital for assessment.
She had no injuries and was reunited with her family.
“Her family was updated, and along with the Elk Valley RCMP, are very appreciative of the public’s assistance in the safe resolution of this concerning event,” said Elk Valley RCMP.
