Impaired driver arrested after flight from police

A 37-year-old Kimberley resident is facing three charges after Cranbrook RCMP received three driving complaints regarding an older model pickup travelling west bound on Highway 3 near Wardner on Sunday around 7:30 p.m.

BC Highway patrol located the vehicle at 8:05 p.m., however, were unable to pull it over as the truck fled.

Cranbrook RCMP members were able to block both sides of Eager Hill and Fort Steele Road after getting an update from a concerned citizen.

The driver was arrested without incident.

The Kimberley resident has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August.
