This year’s Spirit of the Rockies Festival will celebrate the long-standing history of the Cranbrook Public Library at the four-day event.
The Spirit of the Rockies Society says the 2025 theme is “The Spirit of Stories: Celebrating 100 Years of the Cranbrook Library.”
“This theme honours a century of community connection, knowledge, and the enduring power of storytelling, coinciding with the Cranbrook Public Library’s momentous 100th anniversary.” said the Spirit of the Rockies Society.
This year’s event will bring back the Business Dress-up and Window Decoration contest, which encourages local businesses to show off their creativity with unique displays that celebrate the theme.
“The Cranbrook Public Library is honoured to be a part of the 2025 Spirit of the Rockies festival,” said Ursula Brigl, Chief Librarian of the Cranbrook Public Library.
“This celebration will allow us to share our story with the community and express our gratitude for their unwavering support over the past 100 years. We are excited to see the stories that will be shared during the festival.”
This year’s festivities will run from June 19 to 22 with over 40 events on offer to attendees.
“We are incredibly excited to partner with the Cranbrook Public Library to celebrate their 100th anniversary,” said the Spirit of the Rockies Society.
“The library is a cornerstone of our community, and ‘The Spirit of Stories’ provides a wonderful opportunity to showcase its impact on our community. The library will bring a storytelling tent and pop-up library to the Grand Central Fairgrounds on top of the Friends of the Cranbrook Public Library’s annual Kick off to Spirit of the Rockies BBQ!”
