The award winners for the Eddie Mountain division are in and Kimberley Dynamiters head coach Derek Stuart has won coach of the year and GM of the year.
Stuart helped lead the team to a 32-9-3 record on the season.
The Nitros finished first in the division securing home ice for the playoffs.
“The first half was a little bit up and down. I think it took our guys a little while to settle in and form some chemistry,” he said.
“I really liked how we finished the last three months of the season and our goal is to always win the division and I think it was after December 1st that we really felt that was obtainable.”
He wasn’t the only Dynamiter recognized as Luke Davies won Rookie of the year.
He led the Dynamiters with 56 points in 41 games, while also leading all KIJHL rookies.
Elsewhere in the division, Tayler Haggerty of the Fernie Ghostriders was named the most valuable player and top scorer.
This season he tallied 30 goals and 63 points.
His teammate Eric Martin was named the top defenceman for the division after setting a new Ghostriders franchise record for points in a season by a defenceman with 59 points.
Brendan Smith of the Creston Valley Thunder Cats was the top goaltender.
He had a 12-16-4 record with one shutout, an impressive .918 save percentage and a 3.11 goals against average.
The final award went to Peter Godley of the Columbia Valley Rockies for being the most sportsmanlike player, spending only four minutes in the penalty box.
League-wide winners will be announced at a later date.
