Cranbrook RCMP is investigating a break-and-enter at an occupied home in the Highlands area, in addition to this week’s other thefts from the same area.

Police officials say this break-and-enter was reported in the 3300 block of 3a Street South on February 17, around the same time as the other incidents.

According to Cranbrook RCMP, the homeowners were not aware of the incident until the following day when they noticed some of their property missing and items disturbed in their home.

Police do not believe the suspects continued further into the occupied area of the home.

“Cranbrook RCMP requests residents in proximity to this offence check personal security camera footage for video that may help identify the suspects,” said RCMP officials.

“Cranbrook RCMP would also like to ask anyone with information regarding these or other offences to call the nonemergency line at 250-489-3471.”

Police urge the public to adopt a 9 p.m. Routine, which involves storing your belongings in a secure location and ensuring that vehicles, sheds, garages and doors on your home are locked.
