The Cranbrook RCMP, with the help of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Service, has arrested a man wanted out of Calgary for multiple offences.
There is no word yet on what he was wanted for.
The man was apprehended at a multi-unit residential building near Victoria Avenue and 7th Street North shortly before noon on Feb. 6.
The nearby Steeples Elementary was briefly put on lockdown out of an abundance of caution.
Occupants of the neighbouring units were evacuated and the street was closed while the operation was underway.
Police say the man will be held for court as they wait for an application from Calgary City Police to return him to Alberta.
