The District of Sparwood issued 70 building permits in 2024 with a total construction value of $15,434,968.
District staff say this is a return to normal values since there were no large commercial or multi-family builds last year.
Previous values were spiked by projects like Komatsu, Timbers Landing and the Elk Valley Resources Office.
Approximately 69 per cent, or 48 out of the 70 permits were classified as residential.
That includes 20 permits for alterations, 15 for additions and 13 for new dwellings.
Thirteen permits were for commercial and industrial projects, three were for institutional use and six were for demolition.
