Sparwood opens volunteer organization nominations

The District of Sparwood is asking residents to nominate local volunteer organizations who make an impact in the community.

“I am continually inspired by the dedication and generosity of our residents,” said mayor David Wilks.

“Volunteerism is the heart of our community and it is thanks to the countless hours of time from volunteers and the work done by volunteer organizations that help make Sparwood the place it is today.”

The District is looking for residents to nominate organizations that demonstrate initiative, leadership and creativity in their service to the community, Inspire other to engage in volunteerism and improves the quality of life the Sparwood.

Wilks is also encouraging more people to get out and volunteer.

“Volunteering is a two-way street. While it enriches the lives of those who receive help, it also offers immense rewards to those who give,” he said.

“Through volunteering, residents gain new skills, build confidence and develop a deeper connection to our community. The impact of volunteerism extends far beyond the immediate tasks. Acts of kindness inspire others to get involved, creating a ripple effect that spreads positivity throughout our community.”
