Ghostriders and Dynamiters to clash Friday night

It will be a rivalry game in Fernie on Friday as the Kimberley Dynamiters come to town to face the Ghostriders.

Ghostriders head coach Chad Scharff says they’ve had some trouble against Kimberley recently and they’re looking to change that.

“They’ve had our number here since the Christmas break and you have to find a way to beat the good teams,” he said.

“They’re a really good team and the challenge for us is can we get over the mental hurdle and put a full 60 minutes together against a good team.”

The Dynamiters are first in the Eddie Mountain Division, but Fernie is close behind with three games in hand.

Scharff says they try not to look at the standings too often, but they need to win games like this one.

“The standings are important but for us, we don’t really look at where we are or what we have to do, it’s more about the day-to-day process of us getting better,” he added.

“I think we’re at the time of the year now where we have to start showing that we can compete with the good teams.”

Puck drop is at 7 p.m. on Friday.
