The driver and lone survivor of an impaired driving collision is facing six charges for the accident that resulted in three deaths.
Columbia Valley RCMP officials say the Provincial Crown Prosecutor’s office approved the charges against local resident Haley Watson on January 2.
Police say on July 9, 2024, Watson was driving while impaired with three other people in the vehicle when she drove off the road and down an embankment along Panorama Drive in Wilmer.
All three passengers were killed in the accident and Watson was left with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Watson is charged with three counts of Impaired Operation of a Conveyance Causing Death and three counts of Dangerous Operation of Conveyance Causing Death.
Her first court appearance in the Invermere Provincial Court was scheduled for January 13, with another court date set for February 10.
