East Kootenay residents can hit the slopes for a reduced fee while helping out a good cause as the Kimberley Alpine Resort gets set for their community day.
The community will take place on Jan. 19. with 100 per cent of lift ticket sales going to the Cranbrook Kimberley Hospice Society.
Discounted tickets are available to all Canal Flats, Skookumchuck, Meadowbrook, TaTa Creek, Kimberley, Marysville, Wasa, Wycliffe, Moyie, Wardner, Creston, and Cranbrook residents.
Individual tickets are $10 and family tickets will be $20.
The resort is still waiting for replacement parts for repairs to the Tamarack Chair.
On Thursday, the maintenance crew discovered an issue with a critical electrical component of the lift.
We are actively working with our suppliers to source the necessary parts to get the Tamarack Chair back up and running as quickly as possible,” said Ben Cohen, operations and maintenance director.
“Safety is always our top priority and we will not compromise on that.”
All other lifts are currently operational.
