Are you down with the O.C.P.?

Cranbrook council is getting set to give the new official community plan a third reading but wants to hear from the public first.

A public hearing has been set for Jan. 13 at 6 p.m.

This will be the final opportunity for residents to raise concerns about the new OCP document.

Planning manager Rob Veg says it’s been almost 20 years since the last OCP was created.

“Our last OCP was developed in 2006 so here we are almost 2026. A lot has changed in Cranbrook since that time and continues to change,” he said.

“The OCP is a living document and always will be a living document. It can be opened, amended and changed as much as we need.”

The city has launched an overview summary of the document for those not wanting to read the full 300 pages.
