The City of Cranbrook is extending the deadline for the final utility bill of 2024 to Jan. 15 due to the ongoing postal strike.
City staff say the Canada Post strike is impacting residents who rely on receiving their paper utility bills to know it is time to pay.
Residents have multiple options to pay their utility bill, including online banking, paying in person at their bank, mail drop box or in person at city hall or online by credit card.
For those who aren’t used to the online services, city staff say residents can call, email or show up at city hall to find out how much they owe.
The deadline has been extended from Dec. 31 to Jan 15 at 4:30 p.m.
The Canada Post strike has been underway since Nov. 15.
