Columbia Valley RCMP Searching for Missing Invermere Woman

Columbia Valley RCMP received a missing person report for Belinda Dawn Eugene on Sunday, January 26th where the 32-year-old woman was last seen in Radium Hot Springs that morning.

RCMP do not suspect foul play at this time, noting that there is no indicating evidence, but do have reason to believe Eugene may have been hitchhiking to the Kamloops area.

“Although it is believed that Belinda is reportedly dressed appropriately for the current weather conditions, police are very concerned for her health and well-being, should she experience a prolonged exposure,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey, spokesperson for the Southeast District RCMP. “We are interested in locating Belinda to check her well-being and ask motorists travelling throughout the southern interior to watch for her.”

Eugene is described as standing 5’7″ with glasses, black hair and brown eyes. RCMP said Eugene was last seen in Radium Hot Springs Sunday morning with a black jacket, purple snow pants, and a grey fuzzy toque, while she was also carrying a blue backpack and black suitcase.

Anyone that may have information on Eugene’s whereabouts is asked to contact their local police detachment or remain anonymous by calling into Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
