The Cranbrook RCMP has apprehended an individual after responding to a weapons complaint in the King Street area.
Police responded at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Nov. 27 to a weapons complaint at a residence.
Police say the home was contained with the help of the regional Containment Team, General Investigation Section and RCMP drones.
Traffic was interrupted in the area until the individual was apprehended.
S/Sgt Barry Graham says there was no risk to the public at any point.
He says they appreciate residents letting others on social media know about stopped traffic, but it’s important not to give out too much information.
“We certainly appreciated the public’s patience and social media sharing with respect to the traffic interruptions,” he said.
“We would also like to ask that specific details of police tactical response not be shared on social media as it may not only compromise the safety of the officers but, the very people we are responding to help.”
No other details surrounding the incident have been released at this time.
