(MyEastKootenayNow.com staff)

Police in Cranbrook have noticed an uptick in vehicle thefts and are looking for CCTV footage to assist in investigations.

Cranbrook RCMP officials say there has specifically been an increase in attempted thefts surrounding Ford F350 Super Duty pickup trucks.

First-generation (1999-2007) and second-generation (2008-2010) are typically targeted for theft.

Police are asking any resident who owns one of these trucks to review any available surveillance footage to check for attempted theft.
