The Cranbrook Bucks are at home this weekend and will face a rival they don’t get to see as often, as they battle the Trail Smoke Eaters on Saturday.
What was always a good rival matchup doesn’t happen as frequently since the Bucks were moved into the new Interior East Division.
Bucks head coach Ryan Donald says the Smoke Eaters can be tough to play against.
“Trail is a team that can transition quickly, they want to get up the ice fast and they’re a team that can create off the rush,” he said.
The Bucks will face the Sherwood Park Crusaders on Friday.
Donald says they are starting to get more familiar with the Alberta teams.
“Sherwood Park we saw a couple of weeks ago. They’re a dynamic offensive team who plays quick and fast in transition,” he said.
“We’re familiar with them having seen them for the first time. You get a little more film and experience on how they are going to try and play you and learn the things you can do to counter that.”
The Bucks are 10-8 on the season for third in the Interior East Division.
