The City of Cranbrook will be releasing the draft of its new Official Community Plan (OCP) in mid November.
City staff say they are looking to start the bylaw adoption process on Nov. 25, with adoption expected in early January since there is only one council meeting in December.
Engineering and development services director Mike Matejka says there will be some short delays for any proposals that deal with OCP amendments.
“There will be a slight delay in our ability to proceed with consideration of new applications that are requesting to amend the current OCP,” he said.
“Fortunately, we’ve gone through a lot of those recently so we do only have one application that has been received that will be in this short delay. Allowing these applications to proceed would delay the ability for council to consider the OCP.”
The draft OCP will be released on the city’s website once it’s ready.
