Fernie winter parking regulations begin Nov. 1

The City of Fernie is reminding residents that winter parking regulations start on Nov. 1 to help with snow removal.

The alternating parking schedule will be in place from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily on roads with on-street parking.

On Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays parking is allowed on the North or West side of a road.

On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays parking is permitted on the South or East side of the road.

City staff says the restrictions allow city plows to clear the snow back to the boulevards on alternating days.

Any vehicle that disobeys the regulations is subject to ticketing, towing and impoundment.
