The City of Cranbrook is applying for a provincial grant to go towards a wayfinding and signage plan.
Economic Development Office Darren Brewer explains what money they could get.
“The nuts and bolts of it are that it’s up to $100,000 funded 80 per cent by the province, so we are proposing $20,000 of taxpayers’ money from our existing Investment Development Fund,” he said.
The city completed its tourism master plan last year and determined a number of strategies around signage and information.
If they’re successful in securing the grant funding, money can be used for entrance signing, parks and trail signage and interpretive and cultural signage among others.
