Cranbrook residents only have two more weeks before the e-scooter program comes to an end for the season.
While they will not be in service through the winter, but Cranthis will not be the last time Bird Canada’s scooters are seen in the community.
“On November 1, Bird Canada will be collecting the last of the e-scooters within the city,” said Project Manager Katelyn Pocha.
“The city is planning to have the program back up in the spring of 2025. It will be with Bird Canada again, who will run the program from March or April until November.”
Pocha says residents have enjoyed using the e-scooters to zip around Cranbrook.
“We’ve seen a lot of residents and tourists using the e-scooters, and people are travelling quite far on them,” said Pocha.
“It’s showing us that they’re quite successful and people have started using them instead of their vehicles for running errands or commuting between home and work.”
The pilot program was first introduced to Cranbrook in early June.
