Pete Davis candidate BC Conservative has come out on top in Kootenay-Rockies with preliminary polls rolling in for the 2024 provincial election.
Davis earned 42.83 per cent of the ballot, with Independent candidate Tom Shypitka coming in with 30.52 per cent of the vote.
Davis says he is looking forward to representing the constituents of Kootenay-Rockies.
“I just want to thank you guys for coming out to vote. Our team has worked very hard,” said Davis.
“We just see the need for change and I am excited to be your next MLA who can bring that change and I’m excited to work for every single one of you guys in Kootenay Rockies.”
Preliminary polling results as of election night can be found below:
- Sam Atwal – BC NDP – 4,080 (21.54 per cent)
- Pete Davis – BC Conservative Party – 8,112 (42.83 per cent)
- Tom Shypitka – Independent – 5,776 (30.50 per cent)
- Kerri Wall – BC Green Party – 971 (5.14 per cent)
