Kootenay-Rockies BC Conservatives Candidate Pete Davis

As the provincial election grows near, get to know your local BC Conservatives candidate for the Kootenay-Rockies riding: Pete Davis.

Who is Pete Davis?

Pete Davis is a Cranbrook local through and through. Having grown up in the Kootenays, he is proud to raise his four children in the region, with his wife of 23 years, Heather.

Pete is an avid outdoorsman with strong ties to the motorcycle, boating and camping communities, and he has chosen to run for politics to bring about change.

“I’m passionate about making some change in British Columbia.” said Davis.

Pete’s extensive experience as a business professional has allowed him to cultivate strong and enduring relationships with key stakeholders across various sectors critical to the economy of the Elk Valley and East Kootenays.

“I’ve been involved in federal politics for the last seven years. I was the Vice President and President for Rob Morrison for the Conservative Party at BC in the Kootenay-Rockies area.”

“I just can’t sit and just watch what’s going on anymore. Unfortunately, things are just getting worse as we watch this province just deteriorate affordability.”

The Issues: Housing, Affordability and Healthcare

Davis says there is no hiding the broken healthcare system across the East Kootenays and the province, and the community deserve change and adequate health services.

“There’s an ER in Elkford that’s been closed for three years, and people need care in this area, and they’re not getting the care that they need.”

Meanwhile, Davis says a lack of housing, affordable housing, and over-all cost of living has become out of control, and the BC Conservatives have a plan.

“We want to cut the carbon tax. I mean, that’s just something that’s just making life more affordable than every aspect,” said Davis.

“It’s fuel. It also makes food more expensive. There’s lots of things there. So that we need to get rid of right away.”

“As far as affordability for housing, we’ve got these young people that are working hard, they’ve done everything right and they can’t afford to even buy a house or pay rent because it’s just so expensive. We need to get costs down.”

Final Words

“Thank you for all your support, our team has worked very hard and we just see the need for change, so lets make it happen.”
