The Kimberley Dynamiters continue to get in the win column adding another two successes over the weekend and another on Tuesday night.
The Nitros had a decisive 7-4 win over the Spokane Braves on Friday followed by a 5-2 win on Saturday over the Beaver Valley Nitehawks.
“I felt that Friday night we weren’t at our best but were still able to get two points,” said head coach Derek Stuart.
“Saturday was probably our best game of the season so far. The guys were finally starting to play how we knew they could.”
The team followed it up with a 5-2 win over the Creston Valley Thunder Cats.
The Dynamiters are now 7-2 on the season and lead the Eddie Mountain Division.
League-wide they are tied with the Nelson Leafs and behind the Princeton Posse by one point.
The Nitros will now host the Fernie Ghostriders on Friday in a rival matchup and then move on to the Kamloops Storm.
“Fernie is always an intense game,” said Stuart.
“I’m not too sure what to expect from Kamloops. I’ve heard they’re a younger team this year but I’m not too sure. It’s kind of hard to expect things from teams you only play once.”
They will be without defenceman Trey Stephenson for the foreseeable future.
“Stephenson had to have surgery on his finger so he’s probably not back until late November but everyone else should be fine.”
Game time is at 7 p.m. on Friday and 6 p.m. on Sunday.
