City of Cranbrook spending $300,000 for boiler replacement at WFP

A boiler at the Western Financial Place has failed and needs to be replaced.

Issues with the boiler were identified back in May and in July it failed beyond repair.

City staff started sourcing a new boiler on Sept. 17 and is expecting delivery on Nov. 16.

Once it arrives, installation will take place immediately.

The cost of the boiler and parts is $125,000 plus tax and the installation cost is expected to be $80,000 to $100,000.

The project has a total budget of $300,000 with contingencies in place.

It will be funded from the facilities reserve.
