Dynamiters split opening weekend games

The Kimberley Dynamiters head coach is pleased with the team’s effort in the first two games of the season.

Derek Stuart says there was a lot to like, despite splitting the games.

I thought five-on-five we controlled both games,” he said.

“I liked how we attacked and created a lot of scoring chances.”

He says they will need to approve their shorthanded play.

“Obviously we need to work a little more on our penalty kill,” he added.

“All four goals on Saturday were scored with the man advantage for our opponent.”

Stuart says one of their lines in particular had a great showing over the weekend.

“I thought Isaac Sommer, Ethan Bloomquist and Lucas Carlson was probably our best line overall and on defence Nick Hughes had a really good weekend as well.”

The Dynamiters will face the Fernie Ghostriders next followed by the 100-Mile House Wranglers.
