The Cranbrook Bucks have signed Matthew Gilmore for the 2024/25 season.
Gilmore is from Marcellus, New York and played for the Bishop Kearny Selects at the U18 level.
Last season he tallied 14 goals and 48 points in 58 games.
Head coach and GM Ryan Donald said they expect him to be an impact player.
“Matthew is a player that we feel will be an effective BCHL player as he grows into his frame and continues to develop physically,” Donald said.
“He possesses a high skill level, and an ability to see the ice and create offense which will be fun to see emerge over his career here. We look forward to helping Matthew grow and develop as a player and person during his time here in Cranbrook and believe he has the potential to play Division 1 hockey.”
The Bucks have completed two preseason games so far losing to the Trail Smoke Eaters 12-2 but followed it up with a 7-3 win over the West Kelowna Warriors.
The Bucks will be back in Trail on Wednesday to face the Smoke Eaters again in preseason action.
Puck drop is at 8 p.m.
