Columbia Valley RCMP sees uptick in off-road vehicles on streets

The Columbia Valley RCMP said they’ve seen an increased number of people riding unlicensed or uninsured vehicles on local streets.

On Aug. 30 the police were called to an accident on Johnson Road between a dirt bike and a vehicle.

Police said the teenage rider of the dirt bike suffered a broken leg.

The detachment is reminding residents that off-road vehicles like dirt bikes, ATVs or golf carts aren’t insured for regular streets.

Anyone caught will be fined $598.
