No more evacuation order or alerts active in East Kootenay

The remaining evacuation order and alerts for the Dogtooth fire near Golden have been rescinded.

That includes the evacuation order for the properties at 4490 Thomas Road, 2104 Highway 95 South and Rauch Road.

There are now no active evacuation orders or alerts in the East Kootenay.

All fires are also being held or under control.

The area restriction for the Lost Dog fire has been rescinded, while the Ravenshead and Dogtooth fire area restrictions have been reduced.

The Southeast Fire Centre said people should be aware that significant safety hazards may be present.

Fire-damaged trees may be unstable and could fall down and ash pits can be hard to detect and can remain hot long after the flames have died down.

Updated area restrictions can be found below.
